Job Summary
We are currently seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Business Development to lead the company’s efforts to develop new international consumer awareness channels, and build alliances with international ecommerce service providers with complimentary value proposition and interests. The Director of Business Development will assess and cultivate partnership opportunities, be an expert on international consumer behavior and market preferences, build business cases, negotiate deals and create new revenue channels for FiftyOne and its merchant community.
Position Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and assessing partnership opportunities that will increase international consumer awareness, international traffic, checkout conversion, and the accessibility of FiftyOne services to U.S. based retailers
- Working closely with Sales, Client Management and Clients to understand common market objectives and emerging pain points
- Leading the strategy and implementation of partnerships and partner programs
- Collaborating with Professional Services, Product Management and R&D to understand and steer product direction, frameworks and implementation best practices
- Building and managing a pipeline of partner prospects from identification through negotiation and launch to yield new revenue
- Assessing international markets, analyzing business opportunities, and developing proposals
- Driving growth in acquiring new businesses, channels, sales and customers
- Successfully managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Promoting company image, product and thought leadership
- Tracking and reporting on progress against budgets, goals and expenditures
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years experience in business development
- Familiarity with major U.S. global ecommerce service providers
- Strong technology understanding; ability to internalize and convey any technical concept to any audience
- High-energy, ambitious and results oriented with a passion for excellence and exceeding goals
- Demonstrated success in opening new channels and acquiring customers
- Proven ability to develop and sustain strong customer relationships
- Proven success in negotiating and closing
- Intelligent with demonstrated deep analytical skills, including segmentation and targeting
- Entrepreneurial in spirit and creative in approach
- Financial services or payments experience helpful
- Logistics and cross-border trade experience helpful
- Knowledge of banking products, online payment vehicles and credit card processing helpful
- Expert with all Microsoft Office applications and/or iWork applications
- Expert with salesforce.com
- Expert oral and written communicator
- Knowledge of the poor customer experience commonly associated with cross-border ecommerce transactions, in the absence of a FiftyOne solution
