FiftyOne's Board of Directors is comprised of leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries — people with decades of venture-capital experience and expertise across a broad range of disciplines — people who can help guide FiftyOne and propel the company forward as it continues to grow and maximize value for all stakeholders.

Dan Ciporin
Chairman of the Board

Dan Ciporin is Chairman of the Board of FiftyOne. Elected Chairman in early 2010, Mr. Ciporin brings two decades of executive-level operational experience to the company, most recently as Chairman and CEO of Shopping.com, the pioneer in online comparison shopping. Under his leadership, Shopping.com grew from a zero-revenue start-up to more than $100 million in revenues in just five years, culminating in the company’s IPO in October 2004, and its 2006 acquisition by eBay for $620 million.

Prior to his role at Shopping.com, Mr. Ciporin was Senior Vice President at Mastercard International, where he was responsible for the global product and marketing management of all online global debit products.

Mr. Ciporin has also served as Chairman of Internet Lab, a US-Israeli incubator for early-stage consumer Internet startups, and as a Fortune 500 strategy consultant for both Mars and Co. and Corporate Value Associates (CVA). Currently, he serves as a venture partner with Canaan Partners, an early stage venture capital firm. He also sits on the boards of Primedia (NYSE:PRM), VistaPrint (NASDAQ:VRPT), and Corel (NASDAQ:CREL).

Mr. Ciporin earned an A.B. from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and an MBA from Yale University.

Michael DeSimone
Director and Chief Executive Officer

Michael DeSimone is FiftyOne’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. DeSimone joined FiftyOne in 2004. Under his leadership, the company executed a major strategic repositioning, leading to its position today as the market leader in global ecommerce services.

Prior to joining FiftyOne, Mr. DeSimone held key management roles in the sales, technology, and product development areas with leading companies including Travelex, Citibank and Thomas Cook Financial Services. He is regularly sought for commentary by top-tier publications, analyst firms, and trade organizations, among them the Wall Street Journal, Forrester Research, and the National Retail Federation.

Mr. DeSimone holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Buffalo.

George Spencer III
Director

George Spencer was elected to FiftyOne’s Board of Directors in 2003. Senior Managing Director at Seyen Capital, a Chicago-based venture capital firm, he has more than 20 years of venture-capital experience, with particular focus on the field of information technology.

Prior to founding Seyen, Mr. Spencer was a co-founder and Partner of both Adams Street Partners and JK&B Capital. He has invested in more than 40 companies during his career, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of a number of companies, including FiftyOne, Convio (NASDAQ:CNVO), SPS Commerce (NASDAQ:SPSC), and Cybera.

Mr. Spencer earned a B.A. from Amherst College and an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Isaac Hillel
Director

Isaac Hillel was elected to FiftyOne’s Board of Directors in 1999. Managing General Partner of Pitango Venture Capital, Mr. Hillel has extensive international experience in the Information Technology industry, with particular knowledge of the European marketplace. Prior to joining Pitango in early 2000, he served as Executive Vice President at NEC Computers International ("NEC"). He previously held positions with consumer electronics maker Casio PhoneMate.

Mr. Hillel holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Ofer Timor
Director

Ofer Timor was elected to FiftyOne’s Board of Directors in 1999. The Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Delta Ventures Ltd., he has significant experience managing high-growth companies.

Prior to co-founding Delta Ventures, Mr. Timor was President of JACADA. Prior to his work at JACADA, Mr. Timor managed Western Systems for five years. Earlier in his career, he managed Amira (Israel) Ltd. He was the Chairman of the Board of Appilog Inc., and was instrumental in its sale to Mercury Interactive (now part of Hewlett Packard).

Mr. Timor holds a B.A. in Economics from Haifa University.

Stephen J. Getsy
Director

Stephen Getsy was elected to FiftyOne’s Board of Directors in 2003. He is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of On-Line Ventures®, a private equity investment and development firm focused on information technology growth companies. Mr. Getsy brings with him more than thirty-five years hands-on technical and senior management experience in the information technology industry, with such leading public companies as IBM, ADP, and Fiserv.

Mr. Getsy has served on the Board of Directors of over a dozen public and private companies, and is an investor/advisor with a number of leading private equity firms focusing on opportunities within the information technology industry. He is a long term member of the Band of Angels of Silicon Valley, a leading (and one of the earliest) angel investment groups in the United States.

Mr. Getsy graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Mathematics/Education. He also earned an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University and an Executive MBA from the Columbia University Business School.
